Prayer Ministry

At the conclusion of our worship time each week people will be available to pray with you about any item of concern to you.

Prayer & Praise Service

Mark your calendars!  We will have a Prayer & Praise Service on Sunday evening October 12 at 6:30pm!

Christmas Eve Service

The worship planning team is looking for input for the Christmas Eve service.  We are not planning a Christmas program.

Nursery Toy Drive

The unity nursery is looking for some new or gently used toys. If you would like to donate a new toy, please drop them off at the church office by September 30. Some of the toys we are looking for include:  Little people sets, large legos, a train track set, soft balls, hot wheels cars, dolls, strollers, doll accessories, small riding toys, and trucks.

September 24 - 9-12th grades at the Rock 7-9p.m.

September 27 - 7-12th grades (partial day event)

Event: Fill food bags for Kids Against Hunger with other youth groups in Clara City Shifts are from 10a.m. till Noon and Noon till 2p.m.

October 1 - 7-12th grades at the Rock 7-9p.m.

October 3 - Hope Pregnancy Center at 5p.m.

Activity:  Move furniture for carpet cleaning (Youth who helped with Moldova donation)

Solid Rock Snack Schedule

We are in need of some volunteers to fill up our snack schedule.  Would you be willing to bring a snack, provide the drink or both? There are lots of open spots to fill. If you need some idea's, there are some suggestions on the top of the sign up sheet.  Please sign up today on the sheets which are posted on the information bulletin board in the back of church.

Community Announcements

GEMS

Wednesday, September 24, 6:30pm at First CRC.  Please bring all your pizza orders. Lunch will be by Laura Miller & Tara Watnaas.

GEMS Fundraiser 

All Papa Murphy's pizza orders must be turned in by September 24 to Laurie Duininck, Sherri Breems, or any GEMS counselor.  Pizza orders will be available for pickup on October 10 from 4:30 to 6:30 pm at First Church. Gems girls: please remember to turn in your Papa Murphy's pizza order forms this Wednesday.

Senior Citizens

The Senior citizens will be meeting on Thursday, September 25, 11:30am at the Community Center. We will be having a potluck, please encourage your friends to join us as Pastor Wayne & Donna Kopitzke will entertain us with songs, drama and sing-a-longs. Later you can play games & cards.

          A - J ~  bring a casserole

          T - Z ~  bring a dessert

Volunteers Wanted!

The New-2-You Thrift Store would appreciate it if area churches would find volunteers for one Saturday a month to help pick up large donated items such as furniture and deliver them to the store. If you would be willing to volunteer please call the church office.

Prinsburg Society Meeting

The Prinsburg School Society will be meeting Tuesday, September 23 at 7:00 p.m. in the High School Music Room. CMCS administration will be present to talk about several different items including busing. We also need to fill the position of one society officer due to a resignation. This couple would be responsible for assisting in the planning and implementing of the 4th of July activities for 2009. If you would like to volunteer to fill this position or would like more information, please contact Rollin or Tessa Evink. If no one volunteers, we will draw one couple's name out of a hat.  See you there!

Exciting Banquet Opportunity

Community Christian School in Willmar will be hosting their Annual Dessert Banquet on Thursday, November 13 at 7:00pm at the E-Free Church in Willmar.  The speaker is Rick Larson, a professor of Law at the University of Texas. He became fascinated with astronomy a number of years back and some of the discoveries he has turned up in his quest are nothing but 'mind boggling'. He has made some amazing discoveries of the Star of Bethlehem. Contact Tracy Borstad for ticket information if you are interested in attending this banquet. 

"Sea to Sea in a Model T"

Don and Fran Van Polen journeyed from Puget Sound in WA to the Eastern-most town and lighthouse in America in a 1926 Model T Roadster to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Henry Ford's Old Car.  Everyone is invited to enjoy the remarkable stories and beautiful scenery on Saturday, September 27 at 7:00 PM at the CMCS high school gym. Admission is $5.00/person, $20.00 max per family. The event will be hosted by CMCS Junior class.

CTI Music Ministries Positions

CTI Music Ministries has a position open in the Recruiting Department and
will soon have a position open in the Booking Department.  We are looking

 YATEC

Need a little encouragement?  Escape from life...for a weekend. Minnesota's 3rd YATEC (Young Adults Together Encounter Christ) will be held October 17-19 at the First Baptist Church in Willmar.  It is a great opportunity to take in the unconditional love of God and experience true Christian community. Emden's Second Annual "Dinner & A Show"

Wednesday, November 5. Dinner from 5:30 to 7:00 with the show to follow. Proceeds from this event will benefit the building fund. Featured entertainers will be the "Chord Ayres" men's ensemble from Southwestern Minnesota. A variety of musical numbers will be performed including patriotic, sacred, as well as secular  selections. A featured group will include a quartet named "Four on The Floor". Plan on attending this evening of fun, food, and fellowship. It will prove to be a great time!
