Unity Church Announcements

Prayer Ministry

At the conclusion of our worship time each week people will be available to pray with you about any item of concern to you.

World AIDS Day

Tomorrow marks the day set aside each year for the world to be reminded again of the pervasive devastation that the HIV/AIDS pandemic is causing. This morning we will focus our time together on this very important topic. Mike Pluimer will be sharing with us from Scripture and his own reflections.  Mike recently visited four countries in Africa on an AIDS Discovery Tour with CRWRC.  We will also pause for two minutes of silence together today to reflect on our neighbors in need in other parts of the world.  You will find offering envelopes from CRWRC in your church mailboxes if you would like to financially fight the battle against AIDS.

Parking Reminder

Please leave the parking spots closest to the doors available for those who have difficulty walking. There are two handicap spots available in the main lot.  The small lot on the west side (by the kitchen) should not be used during the week.  Thank you for your support and cooperation during our construction time.

Missions Prayer Next Week

Join the Missions Team for our monthly prayer time for our missionaries at 9:00 am next week in Pastor Jeff's office.

Wedding Congratulations

Congratulations to Stephen & Kaitlyn (Leininger) Vogel who were married in our church yesterday. May God richly bless your marriage as you begin this new journey together.

Council Request

Last week the Council placed a letter in everyone's mailbox requesting that you indicate where you may be able to help with the administrative tasks in the church. If you have not done so already, please talk with a Council member or send an email to council@unitycrc.org so that we have everyone's information by our next meeting on December 10

Pastor Jeff's Schedule

Pastor Jeff and his family are celebrating the holidays with both their families this week. Jeff will be back next Monday.

In less than a month, they will depart from Prinsburg after church on Sunday, December 28 to spend a couple days with family in Wisconsin, and then head to Chicago to fly to Nepal on January 1.

Building Project Update

Progress continues on the new building. Over the next few weeks the interior wood ceiling and roofing is expected to go up, as well as more work in the office and nursery wings. We plan to have a "walk-through" and update on December 14th after our worship service. Our targeted completion date is still mid-April. We ask for your continued prayers and consideration while we remain in the midst of a construction zone.

Christmas Caroling!

The Fellowship Committee is planning a night of caroling on December 14th.  We will be caroling at a Willmar nursing home and afterward going to the Rock on Eighth for refreshments.  Please bring a snack to share.  Sign up by December 7th on the sheet by the mailboxes.

Angel Tree Christmas Gifts

Here is another reminder that Christmas is almost here. We have our Angel Tree names from Prison Fellowship. If you are willing to buy gifts for the child of a parent who is spending this Christmas in a Minnesota State Correctional Facility, please contact Marly or Kerry Breems. This is a very meaningful and encouraging ministry to some hurting children.

Hand-Crafted Nepali Jewelry!

The "store is open" at Willmar CRC on Saturday, December 13th from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. This jewelry is made by women in Nepal as part of a micro-enterprise ministry to underprivileged women in Nepal called Higher Ground Crafts (HGC). All the proceeds from this sale go to HGC. This ministry was started by Bimala Pokharel, a Nepali national who received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees at Calvin College and Seminary, and then returned to Nepal to develop this and other micro-enterprise ministries. Her hope is to work towards alleviating poverty and hopelessness in Nepal by sharing God's truth and love, by providing education, and by increasing employment. The vision of HGC is to teach women job skills, show a way to make a living in a dignified way, and to help start-ups of other businesses.  For further information please contact Amy DeVries or Christina Vander Pol. (Please note that the time and date has changed from what was previously stated.)
