WORSHIP NOTES

Welcome to Unity Church this morning. We are delighted that you have joined us for worship. We gather together for the one purpose of worshipping Jesus Christ, the living God and Savior of the world. Our desire is that you would be blessed by the sense of God’s presence and the fellowship of God’s people.

This morning we take a brief look at the topic of Heaven. What will Heaven be like? Is it some remote place that we know very little about? Do we even desire to go there, or is this Earth more appealing? The Bible has a great deal to say about Heaven, but unfortunately our views on Heaven have been shaped more by philosophy, movies, TV shows, and other people’s ideas. Many misunderstandings about Heaven have led us to have incorrect assumptions about what it will be like that have resulted in us not really longing for a better home like the people of faith in Hebrews 11. May we be the kind of people who look forward with eager anticipation for our true home, when Heaven and Earth become one and we live forever in the presence of God on this renewed Earth.

On this Memorial weekend we especially remember those of our congregation who are serving in the military, Ken Cambell and Adam Swinney, with our continued prayers and support.

Congratulations to Chelsey Zondervan and Krista Leininger who both graduated from CMCS this weekend!

NEXT WEEK: The times of our services will change June 5. Morning Worship - 9:30am; Evening worship - 5:00pm; Night Vision - 7:30pm

The mission team will meet next week Sunday morning at 9:00am to pray for our missionaries. We will pray especially for Bob Dykstra’s health. Everyone is welcome to come and pray with us.

Please circle Wednesday June 8 on your calendar for our annual congregational meeting. We will meet at 7:00pm to select two new elders and one new deacon, to approve the budget, and to engage in some general Q & A. You should have received an agenda this past week in the mail. If you did not receive one, please contact the office.

Come early and enjoy sub sandwiches, chips, and pop before the congregational meeting on June 8. Serving starts at 6pm, free will offering for Relay for Life. Informational Relay for Life meeting following the congregational meeting.
