Last Day of Youth Sunday School

Today is the last week of Sunday School for grades 1-12 and the last week of children’s choir. Only 3-preK Children’s church will continue through the summer. Thanks, everyone, for a great year!

Building Expansion Meeting

Monday, May 21, the Facility Teams will meet with our architect to finalize more details and move closer to finishing the design and getting final estimates for the project.

Gospel Class Resumes

Starting Thursday May 31 and Sunday June 3, this summer we will look at the books of the Bible.

Ministry Team Invitation to Share

If your team would like to communicate something to the entire church at the annual congregational meeting, please talk to any of the members of Council.

Potluck with A Missionary

Ruth V. will be sharing and bringing the message Sunday, June 3. A potluck is planned for after the service. This will give everyone an opportunity to visit with her. If you would like to have her over for lunch or dinner call Val Duininck. Ruth will be here through Tuesday, June 5th. A breakfast gathering for everyone is planned for Monday, June 4 at 9:30am at Perkins restaurant.

Hang on to Your Life Preserver!

The VBS crew at First CRC is preparing for a VBS water park adventure. They are getting ready to "Take the Plunge" and "Make a Splash" with Jesus. As kids move from one whirlwind activity to the next, they will be soaking up lessons that will last for a lifetime. It will be a week of fun and excitement! June 4-8 starting at 5:30pm with a meal. Sign up sheets are in that back of church also sign up sheets for food. Any questions call Susanne Mulder or Nora Ziehl.

Unity and Friends Camping Trip

We are going to reserve camping sites at Flandrau State Park in New Ulm, MN for Friday, August 17 to Sunday, August 19. If you are interested in camping with us please talk with Donna Elliot or Natalie Vander Beek TODAY. There will be information on the State Park in the fellowship area and we will be there to answer any questions.

SRYG Mission Trip

All youth going on the mission trip to Utah this summer (July 14-22) must have $50 deposited no later than June 1, because we need a firm list so we can work out transportation. Also, youth going on mission trip should reserve the afternoon of Sunday, May 27 to meet at the Rock at 2:00 p.m. to discuss details of the trip, fundraising, and planning.

SRYG End of the Year Schedule

May 16 – regular lesson for 9-12
May 23 – Fun Night (7-12) at Jeff & Dawn Poppema’s house from 6-8 p.m. for pizza, pop, and games (NOTE DIFFERENT TIME)
May 30 – No Youth Group
June 6 – 6-12th grade students invited to Chad & Beth Hoekstra’s house for a bon fire, worship, games, and a time to welcome the incoming to-be-seventh-grade students and wish our out going 12 grade students well.
Various Summer Dates and activities will be announced at a later time.

Congratulations to Our High School and College Graduates

Congratulations to Jill DeGroot who graduated Summa Cum Laude from North Central University in Minneapolis on Friday, May 4th with a degree in Elementary Education. She has accepted a teaching position at First Baptist Church of Lakewood School in Long Beach, California.

Congratulations to Carrie Ammermann who graduated Saturday, May 19th, 2007 from Virginia Commonwealth University AdCenter with a Masters Degree in Mass Communications specializing in Advertising. Carrie is the daughter of Dave and Betty Ammermann. Carrie graduated from MACCRAY in 2000, she graduated from Augustana College in 2004. Future plans are to secure a job in the advertising industry in New York, Boston, San Francisco or Minneapolis.

Congratulations to Nick Marcus, son of Daryl and Bev, who graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry on Friday, May 18. Following graduation Nick has accepted a general practice residency with the Air Force and enters the service as a Captain. Nick and his wife Jonikka will be stationed at Nellis AFB in Nevada and serve for 3 years.

Congratulations to Danielle Marcus, daughter of Doug & Joyce, who graduated Saturday, May 19th from Northwestern College in St. Paul with a degree in Communications/Public Relations.

We would also like to honor Samantha Ruplinger who would have been a graduate from CMCS this year as well. An honorary diploma will be presented posthumously to her family.

Senior Citizens Potluck

Meet at the community center on Thursday, May 24 at 11:30am. For the potluck dinner, please bring: A - J ~ casseroles, K - R ~ salads, S - Z ~ desserts. Jill De Groot will show slides of her recent trip to the Ukraine. Following that we will have games and cards.

Triathlon Volunteers Needed!

We need some volunteers to work at the student Triathlon that will be held on Saturday, June 9 at the Willmar YMCA. If you are able to help out at this event please contact Tim Miller.

Raymond Society Annual Pork Roast Supper

Free-will Donation going to Central Minnesota Christian School Wednesday, June 13 at Raymond Christian Reformed Church. Serving from 5-7:30 p.m. We will be serving pork on a bun, potato salad, baked beans, chips, pickles, and homemade desserts. Come join us for great food and fellowship!

Raymond Golf Tournament

Father’s Day Weekend Golf Tournament, sponsored by the Raymond Christian Ed. Society, will be held on Saturday, June 16, at the Hawk Creek Country Club in Raymond, with a shotgun start at 8:00am. All proceeds benefit Central Minnesota Christian School. Cost: $40/person (includes 18 holes of golf, lunch, and prizes). We are also looking for team and hole sponsors. 55+ DRIVER IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM OFFERED

The Minnesota Highway Safety Center will be offering a 55+ Driver Improvement Course on June 6 from 1:00pm To 5:00pm at the Prinsburg Community Center. The Driver Improvement course is open to the public; however, pre-registration is requested. A MN Highway Safety & Research Center certified instructor, Paul Knapper, is teaching this class. Driver safety, confidence and comfort are enhanced by utilizing the most up-to-date research in the field, including the latest visual scanning and steering techniques, anti-lock braking (ABS) skills, airbag information, driver distraction, road rage and new vehicle technology. The fee for the four hour refresher course is $18.00. For more information or to register call TOLL FREE 1-888-234-1294. Persons age 55 and older who complete the course qualify for a ten percent discount on their auto insurance premiums for three years, according to Minnesota law. First time participants must complete two four hour sessions. Repeat persons are required to take a four hour refresher course.
