Unity Church Announcements

Selection of New Council Members

This morning we will be selecting by lot and then installing the new members of Council, who will serve for the next three years on the leadership board of Unity.  We are filling two elder positions and one deacon position. The four who are nominated for the position of elder are Lee Duininck, Phil Erffmeyer, Larry Groen, and Wendy Ulferts. And the two nominees for Deacon are Steve Blom and Darrel Frikke. We offer our thanks to those who are completing their terms: Wilson Brouwer, Jeff Poppema, and Wendell Bonnema.  And we give thanks to God for his continued provision of leadership in this church.

Welcome to New Members

Today we are welcoming Londa Fischer and Jason, Laura, and Jaden Dannen to membership of Unity Church.  They have gone through the membership class and met with members of Council and have expressed their desire to join this body as their primary place for spiritual life and growth.  We give thanks to God for his continued work in their lives.

Community Outreach Carnival

Tuesday evening, August 5th, Willmar CRC in conjunction with Solid Rock Youth will be hosting a community outreach carnival and we are looking for help.  This will be a free family oriented event designed specifically to attract people to Christ via the body of Christ living out love for the community.  In the past this event has drawn others into fellowship both at the church and with the children’s programs.  Willmar CRC desires to partner with Unity on this event and welcomes Unity members to participate fully in the planning and implementing of this carnival. Please talk with Kirk Vander Pol (kirkvanderpol@gmail.com ) if you would like to be a part of this exciting outreach.

Angel Food Ministries

Angel Food Ministries is a national ministry working in 37 states with local representation through Harvest Community Church in Willmar.  In cooperation with the USDA, and by purchasing in bulk quantities, Angel Food Ministries seeks to provide quality food to any and all who seek to stretch their food purchasing  dollars.  There are no applications or membership dues, no income restrictions and food is first quality (not seconds). The deacons of Unity CRC are encouraging the use of this program for Unity CRC and community members by taking cash orders directly at Unity CRC after church on Sundays and midweek during church office hours.  Orders will need to be picked up at Harvest Community Church in Willmar Saturday, June 21st.  For more information, to place your order, or to volunteer to assist with this effort, please see Christina Vander Pol in the church fellowship hall today!

Victory in Christ

On Saturday, May 31st at Bunde CRC is Victory Day, a day of celebrating our Victory in Christ. This day will consist of a worship service starting at 9:00am followed by a motorcycle ride in memory of all those who have gone to be with the Lord, and to remember Mike Meyer, who has the Victory and liked to ride his Victory Motorcycle. All who have lost loved ones and would like to remember them by celebrating God’s wondrous grace to us are invited. There will be an opportunity to remember them specifically in this service. Jerry Van Someren is our guest speaker that evening. A pork dinner will be served that evening to support the Mike Meyer family from 5:00pm - 8:00pm.  Everyone is invited. Hooray! Let’s go on a hike

We are going on a VBS Friendship Trek, June 9-13. Any hiker who has        completed Preschool - 6th grade is welcome to join us, in discovering Jesus our Forever Friend. We will be hiking through trails as we learn how Jesus is a friend who will love, care, and share with us no matter what.  Sign up sheets and registration forms are on the table in the back of church. If you have any questions call Lisa Jarveis or Darla Ryks.  Sign up your kids for VBS today for a fun hiking adventure!

Dordt Discovery Days

The registration deadline is approaching! Sign up now for Dordt Discovery Days, June 23-27 on the campus of Dordt College. This is a five-day hands-on learning camp for 6th-8th graders which provides middle school students an opportunity to explore new interests; dive deeper into familiar ones; meet new friends from a variety of places and backgrounds; and learn together for 5 days on a college campus in Christian community.  Check out   www.dordt.edu/events/ddd/  for complete class listings and to register.  For more information contact Dianne De Wit at 712-722-6029 or by email at ddewit@dordt.edu.

Mark Schultz in concert

The Clara City Ministerial Society is sponsoring Mark Schultz in concert. He will be performing at Bethany RC in Clara City on July 11 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are available through Kay or Kari.  Tickets are $15 for general seating and $20 for reserved.

Relay For Life!

The Kandiyohi County Relay for Life is scheduled for the evening of Friday, July 25 through the morning of Saturday, July 26. If you would like to be a team member please call: Mindy (Mulder) Grannes, Jill Brouwer, Karen Marcus  or Laurie Duininck for information on how to get signed up.  As a fundraiser we plan to host an area garden tour on the evening of Thursday, July 3rd. If you are willing to have your garden included in the tour please let one of us know soon.
