Welcome to Unity!

Happy Mothers Day!

We are here today to worship Jesus Christ, our Savior and our King. This day we celebrate as Mother's Day we acknowledge the love and care evident in motherhood. But more importantly, as the Church, we once again seek the fullness of love in God, who showers it upon each and every one of us, no matter what our parental status or relationship to our families. It is only Christ's caring love that supports and inspires us to be who we have been called to be.

Celebration of Communion: This morning, we will be celebrating the Lord's Supper together. If you have placed your faith in Jesus, you are welcome and encouraged to participate today.

Join us Next Sunday, May 17th at 6:00pm for our Evening Worship led by Gretchen Ehret & CTI Music Ministries!

What is a Mother? A Mother has so many things to do, from washing, ironing, cleaning, to tying a shoe. She scrubs, she mends, she cooks and sews, and she bathes the children and washes their clothes. When they forget to wash their faces clean, and their clothes are the muddiest you've ever seen, who repairs the clothes and scrubs them like new? Of course, that is what a Mother will do.

Who becomes the doctor or the nurse when they are ill, Applying a bandage or giving them a pill? Who becomes a teacher when a child has homework? She must never her duty shirk. Who becomes a detective to find a toy or a book? For missing things she must look and look? Who becomes a listener to every heartache, to every accomplishment that a child makes? Who scolds their children when they are naughty, or remind them of God when they are too haughty? Who tends her family with love and patience, too? Of course that is what a Mother will do. - Unknown

BUTTER BRAIDS FOR BREAST CANCER!!! Now is your chance to order butter braids and receive them before graduation (they make a great alternative to cake)!  Three girls from our area (Sarah Punt, Allison Warne and Katie Ziehl) are selling butterbraids in order to raise enough money to do the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk for a Cure in Minneapolis on August 21 - 23, 2009.  This walk is a 60-mile walk spread over 3 days (20 miles per day).  Each participant in this walk is required to raise a minimum of $2,300 (all proceeds go towards breast cancer research).  We have our work cut out for us, but we are all very hopeful and excited to be able to walk for a cure in August!  We would gladly welcome anyone who would be interested in joining our team for this walk!  Otherwise, you can help us make it happen by making a donation or by ordering butter braids!  The available flavors are:  Cinnamon, Blueberry Cream Cheese, Cherry, Apple, Cream Cheese, Raspberry and Carmel Rolls (9 ct.).  The cost is $10 each.  Feel free to share this ordering opportunity with family, friends and co-workers!  Please make checks payable to:  Sarah Punt and place your order form and check in your church secretary's mailbox by Sunday, May 10!  Your butter braids will be delivered to the Prinsburg First CRC Fellowship Hall on Wednesday, May 20 and can be picked up at 5pm.  If you have a conflict with the pick up date or time, we would be happy to make other arrangements for you to get your butter braids.  Please call Sarah Punt or Allison Warne with any questions!  Thank you in advance for your support.
