Unity Church & Community Announcements

 Easter Evening Worship

Join us TONIGHT for our annual Easter worship service with the area churches for a time of celebration. The service is at First CRC,6:30 pm.  Our preacher will be Rev. Cliff Hoekstra, currently pastor of Rock Rapids, IA CRC, and former pastor of Emden CRC.  The offering is for the ministry of Children of the Promise.  There will be a time of refreshments and fellowship following the service.

Remember in Prayer

Please remember in prayer this week Shirley Bonnema who will be submitting to neck surgery at Abbott Northwestern on Friday, March 27th, to have some fusion work done.  It is anticipated to be just a overnight stay.  Pray for God's peace and healing mercies for her and Wendell this week!

 

Bridal Shower

You are invited to a “Come & Go” Open house Bridal Shower for Jennifer Olson, Bride-elect of Steve Erffmeyer, on    Saturday, April 5th from 9:30am to 11:30am at the home of Mike & Bev Mulder.

 Building Project Update

Marcus Construction was the apparent low bidder on our project. The team will meet with Marcus Construction and work out more precise numbers for the total cost of the project.  We plan to provide a summary and update of where we’re at in the process next Sunday, March 30 immediately after church. 

 

Are you interested in working with young children?

We are looking for more people who are willing to teach Children's Church during the worship service.  We have a couple months available this year to give you the opportunity to teach.  If you don't feel comfortable teaching alone, you can also team teach.  If you are interested in this wonderful opportunity, please call Tracy Borstad.

Elementary Spring Music Programs at CMCS: 

Our annual Spring K-4 Music program will be held Thursday evening April 3, at 7:00 p.m. at the High School gym. Included are hymns, patriotic & family themed songs. A "Mini" Musical Presentation about building character is also part of the evening. .

 

CMCS  Annual “Grandparents Day"

Will be held at CMCS and will include a  musical program given by Grades K-6. Friday, April 4, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. in the High School gym.  Hymns, patriotic and family themed songs are a part of the program. A "mini-musical " "Pass It On" is also a part of the program.

 

Crossroad Bible Institute Continuing Education Seminar

You are invited to attend a Continuing Education Seminar led by Dr. David Schuringa on a Portrait of a Prisoner’s Family. The seminar is sponsored by The Center for Advanced Studies at Crossroad Bible Institute and will take place  Next Sunday, March 30, 2008 from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm at Bunde Christian Reformed Church, 5086 140th Avenue SE, Clara City, MN 56222. Hymn Sing

Emden Christian Reformed Church in Renville is hosting a Hymn Sing Next  Sunday, March 30 at 6:00 PM. This service of music will include many of the “Old time favorites” that we still continue to enjoy. Gar Jasper and Paul Knapper will lead the singing and provide special music.

 

Advanced Notice

Mark your calendar for the 6th Annual Area wide Disability Service, which will take place on the evening of August 17th at the First CRC of Prinsburg. Rev. Jerry Koning from Grand Rapids, MI will be our guest speaker. The offering will be for Friendship Ministries.

 

 

Cancer Survivor Reunion

All cancer survivors in Kandiyohi County are invited to attend a reunion at the Willmar American Legion on Tuesday, April 22. The event will begin at 5:30pm and include dinner and entertainment. Invitations will be sent to those who registered at last year’s Relay for Life event. We know that list only covers a small portion of the cancer survivors in the county. If you are a cancer survivor, please consider this a personal invitation to attend. If you have a friend or family member who is a survivor, please invite them to attend with you. Dinner is free for survivors and $10.00 for guests. RSVP by April 12th to Sandy Seydel or you can email her at seydel@wecnet.com.

 

Relay for Life 2008

The 15th Annual Kandiyohi County Relay for Life event will be held at the Willmar Jr. High track on July 25 & 26, 2008. relay for Life is an event designed to celebrate cancer survivors, remember those whose lives have been lost to this disease, and raise money for research and programs offered through the American Cancer Society. Planning and fundraising activities for this year’s event are gearing up and teams are forming. If you would like information about being on a team, please contact Vicki Dew 231-3598

YATEC (Young Adults Together Encounter Christ) is an intense, event packed,  worship-filled, life-changing three-day retreat. YATEC MN #2 will be held April 4-6 at First Baptist Church in Willmar.  You have an opportunity to share and renew, or learn more about faith in Christ. Come and be blessed!
