At the conclusion of our worship time each week people will be available to pray with you about any item that you would like to have prayed for.

Baptism

This morning we celebrate the covenant promises that God makes to his people through the sacrament of baptism. Ben and Megan Taatjes are presenting their daughter, Addilyn Jae, for baptism. We thank God for his call on her life and pray together with her family that the Holy Spirit would confirm these promises in her life by granting her faith in Jesus.

Pastor Jeff Out of the Office

Pastor Jeff will be out of the office from Wednesday through Sunday to officiate a wedding in Michigan.

Solid Rock Youth Group 7-12

Meet at Unity CRC Wednesday at 7p.m. Please wear grubby clothes (wear gloves and bring a shovel) so we can do some landscaping in town, and possibly play some outdoor games. Call Kirk if you have any questions.  If it’s raining the alternate plan is to meet in church at Unity.

We continue to ask for your cooperation during the construction process, and especially while there are big holes in the ground.  If you stop by the church during the week, please use the side door by the kitchen.  If you drive, you may park in the grass lot to the west of County Road 1, and walk across the road.     

OUTREACH CARNIVAL – WILLMAR Tuesday, August 5

Solid Rock Youth will be partnering with Willmar CRC to host a free, family-oriented, carnival to reach out to the community as the body of Christ. The goal is to include Unity Church in this event, so we are looking for people to participate fully in the planning and implementing of this carnival. Please talk with Kirk Vander Pol ( kirkvanderpol@gmail.com ) if you would like to be a part of this exciting outreach.

Women of Faith 2008!

The Women of Faith Conference is Friday, October 17th and Saturday, October 18th.  What a great refreshing weekend! We have tickets reserved at $65.00 per person.  They do not have to be paid for till July 25th. We have great seats, on lower level!! We would love to have you join us, contact April today to claim your ticket. I have 16 tickets left

Community Announcements

Attention Young & Old

On Thursday, June 26 at 1:30 p.m., Lance of Peterson Funeral Home will speak to adults of all ages at the Community Center in Prinsburg.  He will encourage you to look ahead in preparation for life’s end.  It is wise to choose burial plots, become a member of the Tri- County Association and many other ideas to make things simple at this difficult time.  Coffee and treats will be served.  We also encourage you to stay for the afternoon and play games and cards.

Relay for Life Flower order

Thank you to everyone who has already participated in our flower sale! We sold more than 35 bouquets in the first round of orders. We appreciate your support! For this second round we need your orders in by 9:00a.m. Tuesday, June 24. These should be picked up on Friday, June 27 between 5-7p.m. from the 1st CRC West foyer.  Each bouquet of roses or 22 stem mixed bouquet may be purchased for $15. Orders may be given to Laurie Duininck, Mindy Grannes, Jill Brouwer or Karen Marcus. If preferred, you may fax your order to 978-8401.

Garden Tour 

In addition to our flower sale, Capture A Cure is hosting an area garden tour Thursday, July 3 from 5-8pm. The cost is $5.  Before you attend the ice cream social and fireworks planned for later that evening come out and enjoy these beautiful gardens, sign up for door prizes, purchase your Relay luminaries, stock up on dishcloths and more!

FIREWORKS DISPLAY AND ICE CREAM SOCIAL!  

Come out and enjoy some ice cream at the Central Minnesota Christian School!  Also take the opportunity to meet the new administrator, Pete Van Der Puy and his family. The event begins at 8:00pm. The fireworks display with music will kick-off the celebration on Thursday, July 3rd at 10:00pm. Launch site is North of Unity Christian Reformed Church.  Bring your family for a great time of patriotic

Prinsburg's Annual 4th of July Celebration!

You are invited to join us in Prinsburg on the 4th of July for lots of family fun activities!  Everyone is sure to have a lot of fun! If you have creative ideas for the silent auction, please contact Joan Marcus if you have something to donate.

Birthday Celebration

Albert Boersma’s 80th birthday was May 1. His children and grandchildren are in town this week to celebrate and give praise to God for His faithfulness to their family. They invite you to join them for birthday cake after the morning service at First CRC on July 6th.

Mark Schultz in concert

The Clara City Ministerial Society is sponsoring Mark Schultz in concert. He will be performing at Bethany RC in Clara City on July 11 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are available through Kay or Kari.  Tickets are $15 for general seating and $20 for reserved.  Proceeds from the concert will be going to Kids Against Hunger, which feed starving children around the world. Come for the great music, help save a life.

2008 Minn-ia-kota Retreat

Make plans now to ‘take a break’ from your normal routine! The Minn-ia-kota Retreat on September 9 and 10, 2008 at the First Reformed Church in Sioux Center, Iowa is sponsored by the Bible League Volunteers. You will experience great music, inspiring speakers, and a wonderful time of fellowship with other Christians.  While enjoying all of this, you will be able to help provide Bibles and study materials to our friends in Africa.  Lael Arrington, a speaker with a mission to move not just minds, but hearts for Christ, will be our featured guest.  You won’t want to miss her!

          The practical result of knowing that our freedom is found in Christ and     the grace he has given us, and not rules we create to live by.
