What Makes a Dad

God took the strength of a mountain, The majesty of a tree,

The warmth of a summer sun,

The calm of a quiet sea,

The generous soul of nature,

The comforting arm of night,

The wisdom of the ages,

The power of the eagle's flight,

The joy of a morning in spring,

The faith of a mustard seed,

The patience of eternity,

The depth of a family need,

Then God combined these qualities,

When there was nothing more to add,

He knew His masterpiece was complete,

And so,

He called it ... Dad.

The Minne-ia-kota Retreat on September 15 and 16, 2009, at the First Reformed Church in Sioux Center, Iowa, is sponsored by bible League Volunteers. If you went last year, you probably received a mailing this week with a special invite for you and a friend. You won't want to miss this excellent time of spiritual renewal! You will experience great music, inspiring speakers, and a wonderful time of fellowship with other Christians at this "retreat with a reason"! While enjoying all of this, you will be able to help provide bibles and study materials for our friends in Africa. Glenna Salsbury, and award winning speaker, will be our featured guest. Gift Registry: Last week you received in your mailslots a "Gift Registry" listing the items we still need, to furnish our new facility. We have received some nice gifts, but still need most of the items.  Please consider giving a gift!  If you misplaced your  Registry list, there are extra copies on top of the mailslots.  Please check your selection on the list and return it with your check to April in the office, Phil's mailslot, or send it  to Unity Church at PO Box 266
