Good morning, we want to Welcome you to Unity church today!  Let the Spirit of the Sovereign God rest on you today as you enter the presence of the Lord with worship and gladness!  

 

We extend a warm welcome to Rev. Henry Wildeboer as he will preach the Word to us.  Henry is a retired Christian Reformed pastor, who has worked extensively in church leadership development in the CRC and at Tyndale Seminary in Ontario.  We give thanks to God for this opportunity and the passion for the gospel that he has placed on Henry’s heart.

At the conclusion of our worship time each week people will be available to pray with you about any item that you would like to have prayed for.

 

Family Bike Ride to Spicer!!

On Saturday, June 21st we will meet at 3pm at the Willmar Civic Center and at 3:30 pm we will ride bike to Spicer to have a picnic.  You may bring your own packed lunch or stop somewhere in Spicer to get a meal to go.  We will plan to eat at Saulsbury Beach around 5pm.  After the picnic you may enjoy time with your family and friends. Each family can head back to Willmar Civic Center as they wish.  I have a map of the bike trail and a map of Spicer on the bulletin board in the fellowship hall.  Everyone is welcome.   If anyone can help with carrying extra bikes or needs help getting a bike to the civic center call Natalie Vander Beek.

Women Of Faith 2008!

The Women of Faith Conference is Friday, October 17th and Saturday, October 18th.  What a great refreshing weekend! We have tickets reserved at $65.00 per person.  They do not have to be paid for till July 25th. We have great seats, on lower level!! We would love to have you join us, contact April today to claim your ticket. I have 16 tickets left

 

OUTREACH CARNIVAL – WILLMAR Tuesday, August 5

Solid Rock Youth will be partnering with Willmar CRC to host a free, family-oriented, carnival to reach out to the community as the body of Christ. The goal is to include Unity Church in this event, so we are looking for people to participate fully in the planning and implementing of this carnival. Please talk with Kirk Vander Pol ( kirkvanderpol@gmail.com ) if you would like to be a part of this exciting outreach.

 

Community Announcements

 

FIREWORKS DISPLAY AND ICE CREAM SOCIAL!  

Come out and enjoy some ice cream at the Central Minnesota Christian School!  Also take the opportunity to meet the new administrator, Pete Van Der Puy and his family. The event begins at 8:00pm. The fireworks display with music will kick-off the celebration on Thursday, July 3rd at 10:00pm. Launch site is North of Unity Christian Reformed Church.  Bring your family for a great time of patriotic celebration!

 

Tornado Help Needed

Due to the storms in Parkersburg, Iowa many families have been affected with damaged homes, and some have lost loved ones. If you would like to help them out an account has been set up at Prinsbank. Parkersburg CRC deacons will be taking care of the disbursing of funds donated.

 

Relay For Life!

The Kandiyohi County Relay For Life is scheduled for Friday, July 25. The deadline for team registration is May 31 if you want the Relay t-shirt. For sign-up information please contact Laurie Duininck, Mindy (Mulder) Grannes or Jill Brouwer. We plan to host an area garden tour on the evening of July 3. If you are willing to have your garden included in the tour please let one of us know soon. Thank you for all your support!

 

 

4th of July’s Silent Auction

Consider donating to the silent auction on the 4th of July in the High School cafeteria. New items and Services are welcome.  Some donation ideas are:

1 Complete supper each month for a year, Homemade cookies/pies each month for a year, Donate your lake home or camper for 1 week,  Babysitting services, Take someone fishing for a 1/2 day.  Be creative anc contact Joan Marcus to let her know what you are willing to donate.

 

Mark Schultz in concert

The Clara City Ministerial Society is sponsoring Mark Schultz in concert. He will be performing at Bethany RC in Clara City on July 11 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are available through Kay or Kari.  Tickets are $15 for general seating and $20 for reserved.  Proceeds from the concert will be going to Kids Against Hunger, which feed starving children around the world. Come for the great music, help save a life.

 

Attention Young & Old

On Thursday, June 26 at 1:30 p.m. Lance of Peterson Funeral Home will speak to adults of all ages at the Community Center in Prinsburg.  He will encourage you to look ahead in preparation for life’s end.  It is wise to choose burial plots, become a member of the Tri- County Association and many other ideas to make

 

Relay for Life Flower order

Did you forget to order your flower bouquet? Since the deadline for our flower sale seemed to sneak up on so many of us we have extended the sale. Once again, there are 2 available options: 1 dozen roses (no color choice) or a 22 stem mixed bouquet.  Each bouquet is priced at $15 and checks should be made to "Capture A Cure".  Please place your order anytime before 9:00am, Tuesday, June 24.  Flowers can be picked up from the 1st CRC west foyer on Friday, June 27 from 5-7pm. Please give your orders to Laurie Duininck, Mindy Grannes, Jill Brouwer or Karen Marcus. If you prefer, orders can also be faxed to 978-8401.Thank you, once again, for supporting the American Cancer Society and your local Relay For Life Team!

 

2008 Minn-ia-kota Retreat

Make plans now to ‘take a break’ from your normal routine! The Minn-ia-kota Retreat on September 9 and 10, 2008 at the First Reformed Church in Sioux Center, Iowa is sponsored by the Bible League Volunteers. You will experience great music, inspiring speakers, and a wonderful time of fellowship with other Christians.  While enjoying all of this, you will be able to help provide Bibles and study materials to our friends in Africa.  Lael Arrington, a speaker with a mission to move not just minds, but hearts for Christ, will be our featured guest.  You won’t want to miss her!  See the brochures in your mailbox for more details.
