Unity Church Announcements

Baby Congratulations: Congratulations to Stephen & Kaitlyn in the birth of a beautiful baby girl, Madison. She was born this past Thursday morning.

New Building Policy: Now that we have hired a custodian, we no longer will be issuing building keys to all members who want them.  Instead Jason will open the church building first thing each morning and lock it early in the evening unless there is a meeting or activity scheduled.  If you have an evening meeting please inform April so she can put it on the calendar.  Jason will then make sure the church stays open and a room is ready for you.  The church door which will be open is the main one in the entry facing west to the street.

The door to the church office will be locked when the office is closed.    Regular office hours are Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  If you need to use the copier, please do so during office hours.  If for some reason you would have to use the copier after hours, you can contact one of our staff members (Steve, April, Phil, and Jason) who each have a key.

Congregational Meeting: You are reminded that tomorrow evening we will hold our annual Congregational meeting at 7:00 p.m.   Prior to the meeting there will be a Potluck supper at 6:00 p.m. (There are no particular food assignments--bring whatever you wish).  At the Congregational meeting we will vote by ballot on the Proposed Budget for the fiscal year 2009-2010.   We will then vote on the proposal of the Council that we add support of Kirk Vander Pol as Youth Director to the new budget.  We will also hear brief reports updating us on the various ministries of our church and ministry activities of our church members.  A nursery will be provided and we plan to have a film or video for the younger children.

If you went last year, you probably received a mailing this week with a special invite for you and a friend. You won't want to miss this excellent time of spiritual renewal! You will experience great music, inspiring speakers, and a wonderful time of fellowship with other Christians at this "retreat with a reason"! While enjoying all of this, you will be able to help provide bibles and study materials for our friends in Africa. Glenna Salsbury, and award winning speaker, will be our featured guest. Garage "Salers": If you are a garage saler, or like to scan the Willmar Tribune for "Freebies", keep your eyes peeled for cans of infant formula (check expiry date) and for soccer cleats (all sizes).  Children of the Promise ship both items regularly to Haiti.  If you acquire these items, you could either ship them yourself, or give them to Jan Bonnema or to the church office
