Church Visitors at Next Council Meeting
Church Visitors from Classis Lake Superior will be here to visit with the Council on August 7. Ministry Team Training Day
Sunday August 27 ~ 5:00-9:00pm

Sermon Planning Time
As we gear up for a new year of ministry beginning this Fall, Pastors Steve and Jeff will be taking some time for planning sermon themes, scheduling events, and working with the various Ministry Teams over the next several weeks. They remain available for on-going ministry needs, but ask for your patience if they are not readily available and they ask for your prayers for wisdom, vision, and excellence as they discern what God has planned for Unity Church this next year.

Unity Family Cares and Concerns

Thank You
We would like to thank everyone for celebrating Braelin's baptism with us. Your presence made the day very special. Please join us in praising our Savior for Andi’s recovery from surgery for a positive result. The lump that was removed was not cancer. We also ask that you keep our family in your prayers as we deal with the stress of Steve's return to Iraq. Thank you— Andi, Steve, Johnathon and Braelin Rime

Update from Tony Negen
We are thanking God for a good
report on the bone scan this past Tuesday. I now meet with another Mayo doctor on the 25th to see if laparoscopic surgery is an option (because of my kidney and liver disease) in about four weeks. If not, then they will do regular surgery to remove the prostate as soon as possible. Thanks for all your prayers for us. — Tony & Karen Negen

Wedding Congratulations
Congratulations to Aaron & Tracey (Larson) Watson who were married in our church yesterday, with Pastor Steve officiating. Blessings to the both of you in the great journey of love and trust as husband and wife!

Sympathy
Larry Sharkey, brother-in-law of Roxie (& Vern) Marcus passed away this past week, with funeral services on Friday. Our prayers go out to the family and we trust that the God of grace and all comfort will sustain you at this time.

Prayer Request
Please continue to pray for Brandon Marcus, son of Mitch and Pat, who was hospitalized in Grand Rapids, MN this week with a high fever.

Golf Outing
Please join us for a fun day of golf with a potluck to follow on Sat. Aug. 12th at 3:30pm at Hawk Creek Country Club in Raymond. Please sign up if you can join us. More details to follow on the potluck. Any questions contact Natalie Vander Beek.

Community Announcements

Senior Citizens On Friday, August 4th we plan to meet at the Fire Hall at 2:30pm. We will car-pool to Kerkhoven to the Orvil Johnson Farm to observe the new milking parlor, then it’s on to the Jimmy Apple Orchard for a luncheon. In the evening we will attend the Little Crow Ski Show. Cost is about $20.00 each. Also, Chanhassen dinner theater matinee “Singing in the Rain” on Wed., September 27th. Please call Ardy Zondervan if you are interested in either of these.

New Life Treatment Center Annual Donation Auction
Monday, July 31, 2006 at 6:00pm the Annual Donation Auction for New Life Treatment Center will be held in the New Life Gym in Woodstock, MN. Donations of baked goods, new or good used items, farm supplies, etc. would be appreciated. A few items already donated for the sale are: 8ft pool table; collectible coins; one-week stay at a condominium on Madeira Beach at John’s Pass on Florida’s Gulf Coast; and a blue and white cross stitched quilt, hand quilted, King Size, which has won numerous awards at area fairs. Everyone is welcome to come and join in on the bidding. The proceeds are designated for the Need for Life Fund. Barbecues, coffee, and Kool-aid will be served.

Garden Open House
Join us at Bill Dykstra’s any Friday and Saturday thru August, 10:00am until dark. If you have a group that would like a tea party in the garden during the week, give us a call. FREE WILL DONATION will go towards a SENSORY ROOM FOR CALEB ROORDA. Caleb's autism makes him highly sensory defensive. This means that all of his senses are "wired" differently than the average child. Sounds, light, touch & movement can be very over-stimulating. With sensory integration he's able to focus much better and does much less hand flapping, pacing and other behaviors common to autistic children. Sensory equipment is typically quite expensive and we're raising money to purchase much needed equipment.
