WELCOME TO UNITY

Welcome to Unity Church the first Sunday of 2009.  We join together this morning to celebrate the beginning of a new year, a year of the Lord's favor among us.  Our heart's desire is that you would be blessed by the grace of God, the love of Christ, and the power of the Holy Spirit in this place.

Our congregational meeting is being scheduled for Sunday, January 11th, following our morning worship service. Topics will include the restructuring of council, the administrator position, a building/volunteer update, and a budget update.  Please plan now to attend.

"Abiding in Christ" Series

Pastor Steve begins a 3-week series today, focusing on the theme of "Abiding in Christ".  The series is inspired by the work of Dr. Bruce Wilkenson and his book: "Secrets of the Vine", based on John 15.  A summary of the series is in insert form in your bulletins today.

 

"Temple Prayers"

Next Sunday morning - "Temple Prayers" begin.  More info in your mail slots today.

 

Elder Replacement Nominees

Bryan DeGroot and Darrell Frikke have agreed to let their names stand for nomination to replace Beth Hoekstra as elder. 

 

The Fishers

The Fishers arrived safely in Katmandu, Nepal, this past Friday.  Please continue to remember them in your prayers!

Our Deepest Sympathy

Award-Winning January Series

Calvin College celebrates its 22nd year of bringing the award-winning January series for 15 weekdays in January 2009. Many people will join on campus in Grand Rapids, Michigan for the daily noon time lectures that will discuss topics that range from Creation and Design to AIDS and Africa, Health and Environment, Faith and Doubt, to name a few, by the top experts in their respective fields. Many others will join at over 20 live remote web cast sites nationwide! You are cordially invited to attend the live web casts at Calvary church in Edina, MN (5300 France Ave S). Presentations start promptly at 11:30am and end promptly at 12:30pm. Attend only one, several or all of them! It will be an hour well spent! The series is free and no advance notice is required to attend! A schedule of dates are posted in  the information rack located in the fellowship hall.
