Welcome to Unity Church!

God is very faithful from generation to generation! We celebrate His goodness and faithfulness to us today in our worship celebrations! Come and see today that the Lord is good and His love endures forever!

Congregational Meeting

Tonight is our annual congregational meeting at 6:00pm. A fellowship meal will be served at 5:00pm and everybody is invited to come out. Nursery will be provided for children up to age 6. Extra copies of the agenda are available on the table in the fellowship hall. We have many important matters to discuss and we urge all members to be present. Regular attenders are invited to the supper and meeting as well.

Gospel Class Resumes in Fall

Thursdays and Sundays, beginning September 13 and 16, the Gospel Class will re-launch after a break for the summer.

Ministry Training Day

This year’s annual ministry training will be Sunday, August 26 in the evening. Pastor Jeff will provide leadership, teaching, and guidance for our ministry teams

Worship at the Lake NEXT SUNDAY at 11:00AM!

Next Sunday we will gather at Kandiyohi Lake (County Park #1) for a special outdoor service and picnic celebration. Take a blanket or lawn chair with you as we celebrate God’s goodness to us in the great outdoors! A picnic lunch will be served afterwards by your elders and deacons! It will be a great day for the whole family! See you at the lake NEXT WEEK

Solid Rock YG Mission Trip ’07

All youth and adult leaders of the Utah mission trip this summer are asked/urged/required to come to a final training with Mel & Linda Stocks on July 8 @ 3p.m. at the Rock. Please allow at least two hours for this final training where both Mel and Linda will be sharing and giving specific information for us about reaching out to, praying for, and interacting with Mormons. This is crucial for your preparation for this trip and your understanding of your own faith. Parents of youth going to Utah are also encouraged to join us for this event so you too, can learn and stand with your son or daughter in this endeavor.

Building Expansion Update

We will be receiving the bids back on June 28. After the teams have reviewed the bids, and decided what the next steps will be, they will give a report to the church. We ask for your prayers as you consider how you can participate in the ongoing work of this project.


COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS

Free Christian Concert in Spicer

“Still September”, a rising new Christian rock band from the Twin Cities, featuring Ryan Zimmer from the Prinsburg/Willmar area (and former musician for our Night Vision youth services), will be in concert next Sunday night, July 1, at Salsbury Beach in Spicer at 8:00pm. This concert is part of their weekend launch of their new album, “Still September.” The concert is free! Bring a lawn chair and enjoy some great music!

DRIVER IMPROVEMENT

The Minnesota Highway Safety Center is offering a 55+ Driver Improvement Course (8 hr class) on August 20 and 21 from 5:00-9:00 PM at First CRC. The course is open to the public; however, pre-registering is requested. The fee for the four hour refresher course is $18.00 and the eight hour course is $20.00. For more information or to register call 1-(888)-234-1294. Everyone age 55 and older who completes this course qualifies for a ten percent discount on their auto insurance premiums for three years, according to Minnesota law.


4th Of July Activities around Prinsburg

Come and enjoy a day full of fun activities! Sponsored by the Prinsburg School Society Central Minnesota Christian School.

FIREWORKS!

15 minutes of firework displayed with music will kick-off the celebration on Tuesday night, July 3 at 10:00pm. Fireworks will be located east of the Prinsburg City Ball Field. An Ice cream social will be held at Unity CRC prior to the fireworks from 9:00 to 9:50 pm. Free will donation.

July 4 Activities

8:00 am: 2.5 mile Freedom Fun Run/Walk (2.1 Miles) 1/2 mile Adam’s Race (3 yrs - 6th grade), Registration begins at 7:30 (Adam’s Race registration goes until 8:15 am with race beginning at 8:30 am). Each finisher will receive a t-shirt and goodie bag and a monetary donation will be given to CMCS Memorial Fund.

Car Show: Car show strictly for fun. Pre-registered vehicles will be displayed in the horse shoe (Elm Grove Lane) until 5:00 pm. Admission by free will donation.

10:00 am:
Worship Service, Join us for thanksgiving and praise at First Christian Reformed Church. House Representative Al Juhnke will be speaking.

11:00 am – 1:00 pm:
Pork Roast Dinner, Enjoy a great meal while you visit with family and friends. Served in the high school gym. Free will donation.

Silent Auction: Bid on a large selection of donated items in the high school cafeteria.

12:00 – 4:00 pm
Closest-to-Pin Contest, Golfers this is your chance. Test your skill and be one of our lucky prize winners.

Inflatable Fun & Mini Golf, Blowing-up-fun for all ages! Enjoy the afternoon with the all new inflatable games and expanded miniature golf course. Located west of the high school.

1860’s Baseball Game
Watch the “Quicksteps” take on our locally grown “Perfectos” in this throwback 1860’s rules baseball game at the City Ball Diamond on the north end of town.

Kids test their pedaling strength and endurance on the street west of the high school. Registration at 1:30.

Trap Shoot
Test your shooting skills on the lawn south of Unity CRC. Trophy’s awarded to the best shooters.

Horse Rides
Back again! Horse rides will be available on the lawn east of the high school.

Kids & Main Parade
Enjoy the floats and fun! Parade starts at 3rd street and Minnesota Ave going south and end at Kandiyohi and Co Rd 1. Line up begins at 5:30 by Funeral Home. THEME for this years parade:“WE WILL REMEMBER”

FOLLOWING PARADE:
Games will be held for Preschool – 4th grade at the field west of the high school. Concessions will be available.

All youth and adult leaders of the Utah mission trip this summer are asked/urged/required to come to a final training with Mel & Linda Stocks (brother and sister in Christ who were raised in the Mormon faith) on July 8 @ 3p.m. at the Rock. Please allow at least two hours for this final training where both Mel and Linda will be sharing and giving specific information for us as Christians about reaching out to, praying for, and interacting with Mormons. This information is crucial for your preparation as well as for understanding your own Christian faith and what we believe as compared to a different faith community. All parents of youth going to Utah are also encouraged to join us for this event so you too, can learn and stand with your son/daughter in this endeavor. More information on the announcement sheet.

Open House Bridal Shower

There will be an open house bridal shower for Kari Sportel, bride-elect of Jonathan Boggio, on June 23 from 10:00-12:00. It will be held in the Fellowship Hall of First CRC of Prinsburg. Please bring your favorite recipe on a note card to share with Kari.

Senior Citizens

The seniors will meet at the community center on Tuesday, June 19. A potluck is planned for 11:30. A - F please bring desserts G - P Please bring Salads R - Z Please bring Casseroles This time we hope to see the slide show of the Ukraine by Jill De Groot. After this we will go to the Dykstra farm to see the flower garden and have tea in the garden.

2007 Minn-ia-kota Retreat

A unique retreat, designed to glorify God through music and great speakers, and to renew and uplift all who attend, is being planned for you on September 11 & 12, 2007 at the Travelodge (formerly the Oaks) in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Watch your mailboxes for brochures telling more about this event sponsored by the Bible League Volunteers. You can make an eternal difference in people’s lives just by taking part in this retreat and contributing to the special offering. Our goal is to provided Scriptures and train people in Mexico to be brought into the fellowship of Christ and His Church. Mark your calendar and make plans to attend this exciting event!

55+ DRIVER IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM

The Minnesota Highway Safety Center will be offering a 55+ Driver Improvement Course(8 Hour Class) on August 20 and 21 from 5:00-9:00pm at First CRC in Prinsburg. The Driver Improvement course is open to the public; however, pre-registration is requested. A MN Highway Safety & Research Center certified instructor teaches this class. Driver safety, confidence and comfort are enhanced by utilizing the most up-to-date research in the field, including the latest visual scanning and steering techniques, anti-lock braking (ABS) skills, airbag information, driver distraction, road rage and new vehicle technology. The fee for the four hour refresher course is $18.00 and the eight hour course is $20.00. For more information or to register call TOLL FREE 1-(888)-234-1294. Persons age 55 and older who complete the course qualify for a ten percent discount on their auto insurance premiums for three years, according to Minnesota law. First time participants must complete two four hour sessions. Repeat persons are required to take a four hour refresher course.

WELCOME TO UNITY CHURCH!

“Praise the LORD, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples for great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD!” These words from Psalm 117 not only call us to worship God, but they remind us that all nations and all peoples are loved by God and he delights to give himself to us all.

Celebration of Communion

This morning we celebrate the Lord’s Supper. You are invited to join in the taking of the bread and the cup as a tangible reminder and spiritual act of receiving God’s gift of himself to us in his Son, Jesus Christ. If you believe in Jesus as your Savior and follow him as your Lord, no matter what your age or background, you are invited to celebrate with us this morning.

Pastor Steve at Synod

Pastor Steve is in Grand Rapids, Michigan, attending Synod (the bi-national gathering) of the Christian Reformed Church as one of the regional delegates. Synod runs from June 8-16. He will be returning on Sunday, June 17.

Kandiyohi County Relay for Life

Friday, July 20, 6:00pm to Saturday, July 21 at 6:00a, at the Willmar Jr. High (NEW LOCATION).

Help "Capture a Cure!" Carwash & Jail-N-Bail
Saturday, June 16, 2007 from 9:00am - 12:30pm at First CRC

The Capture the Cure Jail-N-Bail involves a mock jail set up at our carwash on June 16th. To participate and help raise money for our Relay team simply contact one of our team members and for a $5.00 donation you can request the “arrest” of your boss, spouse, friend or co-worker. We will then “arrest” the unsuspecting participant by serving them with a warrant. They will then be whisked off to our “Jail” where their bail will be determined by our judge. The jailbirds will be required to make pledge calls to co-workers, friends and relatives to earn their bail. Arresting donations and bail pledges can be collected at a later date. We still need some volunteers at the carwash.

We are delighted to have with us this morning our Missionary, Ruth, who will speak to us about the work she is doing.

Pastor Steve is in Thunder Bay, Ontario, this weekend, speaking at youth gathering today. He and his family plan to return tomorrow.

Pastor Steve will be traveling to Grand Rapids, Michigan, on Friday to attend the Synod (bi-national gathering) of the Christian Reformed Church as one of the regional delegates. Synod runs from June 8-16. He will be returning on Sunday, June 17.

Hang on to your life preserver! VBS is HERE!

The VBS crew is preparing for a VBS water park adventure. They are getting ready to "Take the Plunge" and "Make a Splash" with Jesus. As kids move from one whirlwind activity to the next, they will be soaking up lessons that will last for a lifetime. It will be a week of fun and excitement! THIS WEEK June 4-8 starting at 5:30 pm with a meal and ending at 8:00 p.m. Please contact the church office or Susanne Mulder or Nora Ziehl if you would like to get your child connected to VBS this year, or if you would like to help out in anyway.

CRWRC International Relief Training

You can make a difference in the lives of hurting people in the world! CRWRC is looking for couples who can be available some time within the next 2 years for 3-9 months periods as volunteer International Relief Managers to manage and administer disaster relief projects in developing countries such as Malawi or Kenya. Do you have great organizational skills? Enjoy using computers? Do you have a heart for the poor and a love for the Lord? CRWRC will provide training.
