Morning Worship

Scripture Reading: Philippians 2:1-11 (Scripture Reader: Arlene Groen)
Lenten Sermon Series: "The Madness of the Gospel"
Message: “The Madness of the Humble King” (Pastor Jeff)
Offering: Unity Ministries
Lead Worshiper(s): Bryan De Groot

WELCOME TO UNITY CHURCH!
“Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the LORD. From the house of the LORD we bless him. The LORD is God, and he has made his light shine upon us. Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.” - Psalm 118:24-29
Today begins our celebration of the passion of Jesus. This is Palm Sunday, the day we reflect on his triumphal entry into Jerusalem the week before he went to the cross. Because of his obedience even to death, we worship this king who demonstrated for us what it means to be truly humble. May we have the same mind and attitude as that of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Passion Week Worship

We will remember and reflect on the death of Christ on Good Friday, April 6. As part of our worship together we will be participating in Communion. This will be in place of our regular practice of having Communion on the second Sunday of the month. We will not be taking the Lord’s Supper on Easter Sunday.

Lenten Sermon Series: The Madness of the Gospel
Message: The Madness of the Role Player(Pastor Jeff)
Offering: Unity Ministries
Lead Worshiper(s): Bryan De Groot

WELCOME TO UNITY CHURCH!
We thank God that you are here. He has brought each of us to this place, and we pray that we will all be blessed by his grace, mercy, and peace. May we find our greatest treasure in God as we are reminded of the promises God has given us and as we renew our commitment to love and follow him in everything.

During this season of Lent, from Ash Wednesday to Easter, we are focusing on the loving grace of Jesus as seen in the gospel of John and the letter to the Philippians. This morning we look at how Jesus affected the lives of two people who played important, but mostly unrecognized, roles in the life and ministry of the Apostle Paul.

Next Sunday we celebrate together the promises of God given to us in the sacrament of baptism. Jeff and Wendy Fisher will present their son, Trey, to receive the blessing and grace of God through the sign and seal of entering into the covenant community.

Thank You for Your Prayers and Support

We would like to thank each one of you for your concern, cards, prayers, food, flowers, memorials, and hugs of sympathy. We especially thank God for the abundant amount of peace He has given us knowing that Thorval is now in his heavenly home. God Bless you! Dorothy Slagter and Family

And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.” 1 John 3:16-18

Winter Blahs? - Lets take a tour

(YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE A SENIOR CITIZEN TO JOIN US ON THESE TOURS!) On Wednesday, March 14, we plan to attend the line play “The Orphan Train” at the Minneapolis Children's Theater. This is the story of the 1930’s during the depression where children were sent on trains to find new homes. After the production we would travel to Owatonna to see the Orphanage museum and hear its stories. Saturday, April 14, we hope to take a bus to the Gospel Quartet convention in Minneapolis. Family groups and quartets entertain us all day. Its great continuous gospel music. Please call Ardy Zondervan for more details or to sign for these two tours. She needs to know soon.
