Welcome to Unity Church!

We give thanks to the Lord our God who has blessed us with more than we could ask or imagine. As we worship Him together this day, may the words of our mouths and the meditation of our hearts be pleasing in his sight, our LORD, our Rock and our Redeemer.

This morning we begin the second phase of the Old Testament Challenge: Stepping Out in Faith. Over the next seven weeks, we will take a journey through the historical books of the Old Testament from Joshua to Chronicles.

Thanksgiving Eve Worship Wednesday at 7:00pm
Join us this Wednesday night for a special Thanksgiving Celebration, as we give thanks to God for all that he has done by reflecting on the events of this past year, singing, and praying.

St. Cloud Prison Service

A team of people is leading worship this morning and ministering to men in prison at the St. Cloud Correctional Facility. Pray that the Lord would impact lives through the power of his gospel and the service of this team.

Jeff & Wendy Out of the Office
Pastors Jeff and Wendy will be gone Thursday through Tuesday. They are leaving Thanksgiving Day to go to Florida to celebrate Christmas with Wendy’s family. They plan to be in Prinsburg for all of December.

Youth Education Reminder
Next Sunday morning there will not be Sunday School, Children’s Church, or Children’s Choir. Enjoy the time with your families as you celebrate Thanksgiving together.

Christmas Program This year we will have two shows of our Christmas Program celebration. You are invited to attend either on Saturday, December 17 at 7:00pm or on Sunday, December 18 at 5:00pm. Everyone is welcome!

5th–6th Grade Sunday School Teacher NEEDED!
We are looking for a teacher to finish out the semester or to complete the full Sunday School year. If you are interested in serving in this way, contact Rita or Chuck L.

OTC Small Group Guide #2 Coming Soon
The Small Group Discussion Guide books are on back order and will be arriving some time this week. If you ordered a guide, you should have a copy of the first lesson in your church mailbox. If you did not get a copy and would like a copy, please stop by the church office to pick one up. We greatly apologize for the inconvenience.

Baby Bottle Boomerang
If you were not here when we gave out baby bottles to fill with change to help support Hope Pregnancy Center, there are still some available in the church office. For those of you filling your bottles, please remember to return them to us by December 4.

COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS

Sixth Annual Community Christmas Carol at First CRC Sunday November 27 at 7:00pm All members of area churches are cordially invited to attend an evening of congregational singing and performances of Advent and Christmas Carols and music of the season. The evening worship service will be incorporated into the program. Featured performers will include an ensemble and soloists from the Prairie Arts Chorale. Following the program, we will enjoy a time of refreshments and fellowship.

CMCS Parents Club Meeting
Tuesday, November 29
We will convene for a short meeting between the junior varsity and the varsity basketball game in the Music Room to vote on funding items with the proceeds from the 2005 Harvest Festival: teaching supplies for the elementary teachers ($1,050), a freezer ($6,000), 5th & 6th Grade Science Camp ($2,000), and High School restroom stalls ($5,000). We will also vote on funding the replacement of classroom doors in older elementary school ($10,000) with the proceeds from the 2006 Host and Hostess Supper. We will also take nominations for Vice President and Treasurer for the following school year.

2005 Advent Festival
Calvary Lutheran Church of Willmar extends a warm invitation to attend its Advent Festival Open House on December 2-4. Hours are 1-9pm on Friday, 10-7pm on Saturday and 1-5pm on Sunday. This year’s theme, “Repeat the Sounding Joy,” is a look at Christmas through music

CMCS Christmas Program Friday December 2 at 7:00pm
Central Minnesota Christian School students in grades 5-8 will present: A Gift of Christmas Music on Friday night, December 2 at 7:00pm in the high school gym. Included in this program are well-known and special vocal Christmas numbers from the 5th and 6th grade choirs and junior high boys and girls choirs. The 5th and 6th grade bands and the junior high band will also share several Christmas selections.

Senior Citizens Advance Notice
On Wednesday January 18 the Seniors will attend the play “The Church Basement Ladies”—a comedy at the Plymouth Playhouse. We do need reservations for this as it is a sell-out every time! Cost should run about $40.00 per person. There will be more details later. Please call Ardy or Marilyn to reserve your place.

Don Long from the Barnabas Foundation will be in our area on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1. Barnabas Foundation works to help Christians plan to meet their personal and family financial needs while still supporting the causes that are important to them. We grieve the death of our father grandfather and husband Merlyn Ohden. We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support that has been expressed by so many. We have felt your prayers on our behalf thought his illness as well as during the time of his funeral. Thank you to Pastor Zylstra and Wendy Fisher for filling her rolls as chaplain and for coming at a moment’s notice. Thank you for your acts of sympathy but most of all for being there for us. Senior Citizens
The Seniors will meet at the community center at 11:00 on Wednesday, November 16. We will carpool to Willmar and have a pre-Thanksgiving buffet at the Blue Heron. The cost is be $8.00 per person. This include’s the tax and gratuity. Please call either Marilyn or Ardy for reservations.

Baby Bottle Boomerang
How is your baby bottle filling up? Just a reminder to return them to the church office no later then Sunday, December 4th. Did you know that Hope Pregnancy Center is now offering limited ultrasound Services. It is Hope’s belief that if a women can see and hear her unborn baby that she will choose life for her baby. With your filled baby bottle this part of our ministry will be able to continue.

This morning we welcome Sara Hankel, Executive Director of Hope Pregnancy Center, as she presents the Baby Bottle Boomerang—a great way to support a great cause!

Next Sunday will be the culmination of the first phase of the OTC! We will have a communion celebration during our morning worship and testify to God’s promises to Gabriel Miedema through his baptism.

Baby Congratulations Congratulations to Adam & Ashley Thole in the birth of a beautiful baby boy, Mason Daniel. Mason was born on Wednesday, Nov. 2, weighing 7 lbs 10 oz, and is 20 inches long.

Sympathy
Our love and sympathy are extended to the Ohden family after the death of Merlyn this past week. The funeral was held on Thursday. We pray for the lasting comfort of the Holy Spirit to surround Merlyn’s family and we give thanks for the assurance that he is now in glory and suffers no more.

Open House Baby Shower
We will celebrate the birth of Gabriel Henry Miedema, infant son of Charles and Angela, on Saturday, November 12th from 10:00am - 12:00pm.

Jeff & Wendy Out of the Office
Pastors Jeff & Wendy will leave for Iowa Thursday evening to celebrate Christmas with Jeff’s family. They will be back on Tuesday morning.

Unity Childcare Closing
We are sad to bring you the news that Unity Childcare will be closing its doors in just a couple of weeks. We want to thank everyone who has given their time and energy to help make the daycare run.

MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES AT UNITY

All-Church Celebration Potluck Sunday, November 13 Next Sunday, following the morning worship time, we will celebrate the completion of the first phase of the OTC by coming together for a feast of fellowship and food. Everyone please plan to bring your favorite dish and join us! Care Group #2 will host the potluck by helping with set-up and clean-up.

Adult Education November 13 ~ 8:45am
Special guests Abdullah and Nuha Awad of Beit Sahour (a community next to Bethlehem) will be sharing about life as Christians living in the West Bank/Gaza area. They direct a Special Education Center for Youth and Young Adults which focuses on impaired students.
